Ghana is one of the oldest and most traditional and cultural destination in West Africa. A country with a wide range of cultures, wildlife, Heritage site, Land marks & History of the infamous slave activities, Forts & Castles, contrasting landscapes complete with a long coconut grove coastline. Ghana never fails to amaze visitor who may be expecting the rich cultural exhibition of the indigenes and the display of royalty by famous Ashanti kingdom, but is pleasantly surprised with the untouched natural falls, rain forest, ancestral caves and high mountains.

10 Days Cultural Tour

Day 1, Arriving at Kotoka International Airport for immigration formalities and continuing to check in at a hotel for welcome orientation. Day 2, ACCRA CITY TOUR After breakfast, we depart through the principal streets of Accra to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Art Center, National Museum, Makola Market, D.W.B. Dubois Center, and the University of Ghana. Dinner at the beach and back to the hotel. Day 3, CAPE COAST/ELMINA We depart early morning across the city of Accra heading towards the central region, there will be a stopover at the Posoban shrine, continue to Cape Castle for slave history tour, fishing village tour, Elmina Castle and stone houses tour. Overnight at the hotel. Day 4, KAKUM NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, the driver will head to Kakum National Park, activities here are, the canopy walkway, hiking the trails, and Monkey watching. There will be lunch at Hance cottage over a crocodile pond. We continue towards Kumasi, stopping over at Asin Manso slave river, arriving late in Kumasi to check in at the hotel. Day 5, KUMASI CITY TOUR Places attractions here will be, Manshia Palace Museum which is the seat of the Ashanti King, the Culture center for artefacts and antiquities, Komfo Anokye sword site, Prempeh I military museum, Kejetia Market the largest open-air market in West Africa. Back to hotel Day 6, Craft villages, Today we will visit Ntonso where Adinkra textiles are traditionally printed for special occasions. To Ahwiaa for woodcarving and we continue to Bonwere where we would be welcomed by the Kente Chief with traditional music and dance for a Cultural afternoon with a demonstration of Kente weaving, Yaa Asantewaa’s village at Edweso. Overnight at the hotel. Day 7, KINTAMPO Departing from Kumasi early morning to Kintampo in the middle belt, a visit to Kintampo water Falls, and Buabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary for an interaction with the local monkeys as they live in harmony with the people. We continue to Mole through the fascinating landscape of the North, observing the contrast between the South and the North, arriving late to check in at the hotel. Day 8, MOLE NATIONAL PARK This is the largest national park in Ghana, located in the Northern part of the country, one can hike on foot with the jungle guide, or go on a safari ride with a jungle jeep to catch a glimpse of the wildlife, about 200 species of birds, colorful butterflies, and magnificent reptiles, African Buffalo, Olive Baboon, Hyena, Red-flanked Duiker, Roan Antelope, common Wartdog, Vervet Monkeys and many more. Early morning at the hotel, you will see the African Elephants coming to drink from the pond. In the afternoon, you will visit Mognori Eco-village which is located about 15km from the park, to explore the village by walking amidst drumming and dance performances by the villagers, or take a canoe ride on the Mole river. Day 9, PAGA/BONGO After breakfast, depart to Bolgatanga, stopping over at Tongo, visit the chief’s palace, where you will be afforded a traditional welcome. The next stop will be Paga to experience riding a Crocodile, these Crocodiles are sacred animals for the people and live right in the middle of the villages, they very harmless. Pikworo village, a village that served as a slave collection outpost for the Ghanaian slave traders who sold to the French, the English, and the Dutch. A history of the harsh treatment that African slaves were put through would be told here by a local guide. Back to Zaina Lodge at Mole for overnight. Day 10, NKWANTA We depart early morning through Tamale to Nkwanta, heading towards south-eastern Ghana. En route, view from a distance, the Kyabobo National Park, lying at the foot of Mount Djbobo on the eastern border with Togo. A chilling experience awaits you at the Shari village of the Akyode, a group of tribes that are cut off from the reach of civilization. Almost everyone in the area practice African tradition and solely rely on fetish priest for spiritual powers.
